Why we exist

A village that had
no school of its own

Kikyamuzi is a farming village where more than 80% of adults can barely read or write. Before St. Mary's opened in 2018, children here walked long distances to Mubende or Hoima for schooling — or simply dropped out. St. Mary's became a new dawn for the area: a school built by and for the community it serves.

Our plans

What we're building next

Seven priorities, tackled one at a time — and you can choose exactly which one you want to support.

See all plans

Finish & Renovate the Classrooms

Floors, verandas, and plastering are still needed, and more desks and textbooks are required as enrollment grows.

Demonstration School Garden

A fish pond, poultry, animal keeping, and vegetable growing to teach children practical food-security skills.

Bring Electricity to the School

The school is roughly 4 km from the main road with no power. Electricity would allow evening study and introduce computers and technology.

Teachers' Quarters

On-site housing so teachers — especially during the rainy season — can reliably reach class on time.

A School Van

Some children currently walk over 20 km a day and arrive too exhausted to concentrate. A van would give every child an equal chance to learn.

A Community Dispensary

There is currently no clinic anywhere in Kikyamuzi. The nearest health centre is 10–15 km away.

Tree-Planting & Ecology Campaign

An ongoing environmental initiative that teaches children to care for the land they depend on.

Promoting human dignity and life in abundance for all. We believe every child in Kikyamuzi deserves a safe classroom, a full stomach, and a chance to dream beyond the boundaries of this village.”

— The St. Mary's Community, Kikyamuzi

Every child deserves a safe classroom and a full stomach.
