What we're building next
What we already have, what's still missing, and how each priority will change daily life at St. Mary's.
We cannot do all of this at once. We are tackling one priority at a time, and we're glad to show you exactly where support is going.
Expand & Add More Classrooms
Our existing classrooms are already built and in daily use, but with 500+ pupils enrolled and more joining every term, St. Mary's needs additional classrooms to keep class sizes manageable and welcome every child who needs a place.
What we have
- Existing classrooms already built and in daily use
- Serving 500+ pupils
What's still needed
- More classrooms as enrollment grows
- More desks and textbooks for new classrooms
Expand the Dormitories
The dormitories help children avoid walking long distances to school, but they are now full and congested. St. Mary's needs more dormitory space and beds so children can stay safely and comfortably.
What we have
- Dormitories already built and in use
- Children can stay closer to school
What's still needed
- More dormitory space
- More beds and room for safe, comfortable living
Demonstration School Garden
A fish pond, poultry, animal keeping, and vegetable growing to teach children practical food-security skills.
What we have
Nothing in place yet
What's still needed
- A fish pond
- Poultry and animal keeping
- Vegetable growing beds
Expand Solar Power & Computers
Thanks to generous donors, solar power and a first set of computers are already installed and in use. There's still no grid electricity, and more panels, batteries, and computers are needed to reach every classroom.
What we have
- Solar power installed
- A first set of computers donated and in use
What's still needed
- More solar panels and batteries
- More computers to reach every classroom
- No grid electricity yet
Teachers' Quarters
On-site housing so teachers, especially during the rainy season, can reliably reach class on time.
What we have
Nothing in place yet
What's still needed
- On-site housing for teachers, especially for the rainy season
A School Van
Some children currently walk over 20 km a day and arrive too exhausted to concentrate. A van would give every child an equal chance to learn.
What we have
Nothing in place yet
What's still needed
- A school van so every child can arrive on time and ready to learn
A Community Dispensary
There is currently no clinic anywhere in Kikyamuzi. The nearest health centre is 10-15 km away.
What we have
Nothing in place yet
What's still needed
- A community dispensary, the nearest health centre is 10-15 km away
Build a Chapel
St. Mary's has no dedicated space for prayer and worship on the compound. A chapel would give pupils, staff, and the wider community a home for that part of school life.
What we have
Nothing in place yet
What's still needed
- A dedicated chapel for prayer and worship on the compound
Tree-Planting & Ecology Campaign
An ongoing environmental initiative that teaches children to care for the land they depend on.
What we have
- An ongoing tree-planting and ecology campaign already underway
- Established trees already on the school grounds
What's still needed
- Continued seedlings and expansion of the campaign
